want to set up my old pc as a net host for several other computers to use the net off. the computer will only be on when the net is being used, but it does not have any periperhals connected, so connections cannot be started manually. only way i can figure to do it is by setting up internet connection sharing then telling internet explorer to connect automatically, and put it in the start menu, then turning it off when you want to disconnect.
anyone got any better ideas, is there a simpler/better way to do this? any ideas greatly appreciated, mike

Hi
I use Remote Disconnection utility (see link below) with the normal internet sharing in WIN98SE enabled. This S/W allows anyone on the network to connect or disconnect, so you don't need to have IE connect automatically. It also warns others on your net that someone else is about to disconnect, and gives you the option of staying connected.
