Can anyone help with the setup of the rage fury maxx 64mg dual
It hangs after the drivers are installed just after the win98 startup logo with a black screen, i have got the latest drivers, directX ect. but cant get round it..
I have tryed with the secondary chip disabled but still nothing.
Any info will be a big help

Hi mate, I've heard of some dodgy things happening if you dont install stuff in correct order. As you are having probs I'll tell you the most laborious but safest way (apologies if you know this)
-remove all hardware exept graphics card, if on board sound then disable it in BIOS or via jumper, same if o/b modem.
-delete partitions in fdisk, create new ones, format etc
-install 98se (minimal)
-defrag C:
-install mobo drivers
-defrag C
-install direct X
-defrag
-install graphics card drivers

I dont know if this will solve problem but its 'supposed' to be the ideal method...

I had EXACTLY the same issue as you, when I tried to install the same card under 98se on an MSI-6191 m/board. I tried everything that the ATI support pages suggested doing. http://support.ati.com/infobase/3571.html In the end I gave up. I simply could NOT get it to work.

When I recently upgraded to XP I tried the card again. Hooray it worked. But is only supported under XP with 2D drivers. So no games would run. Out it came and back in went my nvidia tnt2 32mb card... Its put me off EVER getting another ATI graphics card.

Not much help I know, but at least you aren't the only one who had this problem...

Well i have it running, in 98se now, i dont know if its correct, but the gfx in games is well good, The jumper on the gfx card for the second chip is disabled, so that would mean its just 32meg? when i put it on it hangs with a green screen at startup now, i am just leaving it as it is for now, at least i can play quake2 with full gfx on LOL
Any more info will be welcome.
Ohh PS. I see win2k dont like it also? is there anyway of getting it working in there yet?
I dont have xp yet, but then again the cpu wont like that much its only a 233 AMD clocked. LOL
