At least you guys have more recent 'equivalents'. I used to spend day-in, night-out playing StreetFighter (anyone else know how to do Guile's magic handcuffs?). You don't see any 2d-anim-beat'em ups with that level of complexity any more
I found one! It is <------------------------------- THIS BIG -------------------------------------->

Wish Lucasarts would go back and do some mnore point and click adventures, I still have Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle hanging around
"Help me Sam ans Max, you're my only hope" rotflmao...
I totally agree and also have those games lying around. I also loved playing Simon the Sorcerer and the Discworld adventures in 2D I was not impressed with either Simon 3D or Warcraft III. My top 10 favourites are:
1. Warcraft II/Starcraft Brood War including all expansion packs
2. Quake 1,2 and 3
3. Doom 1,2 and 3
4. C&C - all versions
5. Simon
6. Discworld
7. Sam & Max
8. Monkey Island - all
9. Settlers 3 and 4
10. Age of Mythology

Simon the Sorceror. Yes, the way he manages to get a mag of MM's quality out the door every week is sheer magic.
