After playing around on the new Macbook Pro for the past month, I have decided on investing in a decent camcorder.

I was recommended

but i wanted to know if the Macbook Pro CPU can handle the 1080i video.

Additionally, I know this is a mac forum but I dont know very much about camcorders so would anyone here be able to recommend a model within £4000 for making short films for my school?

I shouldn't see why not. I saw the exact cam as the one you've been recommended. Played around with it, and my god, the picture quality is just breath taking, I never thought it would be that good.

I'm myself is considering on getting that camcorder ( once I've got money together that is ) and also once it's out and the price dropped ( I hope ) I'm thinking on getting the Canon XL-H1 1080i professional HDV . the price range for that one is around 5.000 Quid!
