I have just bought the above old laptop, and need some advice re its possible Op.sys.. Which version of MS DOS applies?. I also need it seems a start up disc as I am unable to get it up and running. It has a 40MB HDD and I wonder if it will take Win 3.1 eventually?. I do not have the Owners Manual. I suspect that it only has 2 MB of RAM but it might have up to 5MB.

I have been able to set up the configuration menu in the CMOS but cannot get the DOS prompt upon switch on.

The model no. is ZWL-200-04.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I used to have one of those!
It's a 286, monochrome VGA screen, right? Mine had only 1Mb RAM (640+384EMS) and i can't remember which DOS it came with, but I ran DOS 4 (and later DOS 6.22) on it. I added 1Mb of proprietary memory and ran Windows 3.1 (and Excel/Word/PSP) in 40Mb with no problems. I swapped it for a Compag SLT-286 with almost identical specs, and which I still occasionally use.
Hope this helps
