To reset your password, boot your Mac from your OS disc and pick the option from the pull-down in the top-left corner. It's been a while since I've done it, but that's the procedure...

cheers mate wouldn't work using mac os disk wanted my password but it tried it again and it worked this time must have typoed first few times lol. what i wanted wouldnt install anyway cos quicktime 7 needs 10.3.9 and i have 10.2.6 except you have to pay to get the upgrade even though it is just a revision and so £65 is a little steep as far as i am concerned.

10.5 (Leopard) should be out next year. It might be an idea to wait a little, and skip two operating systems...

Forget about 10.3.9 and either wait for Leopard or try Ebay for a copy of Tiger. I would also look out for a processor upgrade for the Cube if you plan using CS2 on it. My G4 400MHz Powermac struggled a bit with large files on certain tasks. Have a look at OtherWorldComputings web site (in the States) as they sell a lot of Mac upgrade gear. You should find some of the older processor upgrades online for a reasonable price .
