Since my suggestion of an index for Micro Mart has not been implemented, ( at least not yet ), I wonder if a "Top Twenty Products" regular section might be considered.
I have in mind only the top twenty products at any time being listed according to the criteria of their having been awarded the "Essential Purchase", or "Best Buy Award".
As new reviewed products appear, each week, the Top Twenty Products List would change incrementally over the year.
Whenever a change takes place, there would be journalistic comment in the relevant product's review, and so the weekly listing would have something of the character of a feature. This would be especially the case whenever something very impressive and innovative is released to the market.
The relevant Micro Mart issue number would be cited for a given listed product during the time it appeared in the Top Twenty. This would mean that even without a main Micro Mart index, readers upgrading or adding new products to their system could easily find a highly recommended motherboard, scanner or whatever.

The index idea is one that we're looking to implement, but the work involved is plentiful!
As for a changing top 20, something along those lines is kicking in sooner, although it's more likely to break down the key product areas and offer three or four recommendations in each. Will keep you posted!

The idea would only really be of any use if updated constantly on the web site.
An item being reviewed may not be recommended, simply because of its value for money rating. With the market changing and upgrading at remarkable speed, those items may quickly become a recommendation, due to their new value for money rating.
The best bet initially would be to recommend based upon perfomance, stability, build etc, and let the reader, with access to the micromart magazine, decide for themselves as to its relative value.
