If anyone's interested, Open Office 6 was recently given away on the PCPro coverdisk -- either last month or the month before.

Granville, pass me a cloth.

That issue is still on the shelves! Also on a magazine freebie CD-ROM (Personal Computer World, June issue) is Ability Office 2001 which includes a presentation package. Star Office 5.2 is still on Sun Microsystems' own web site, and the downloadable beta version of Star Office 6.0 is there too - in the Chinese version only!

You now have to pay for the Star Office 5.2 download (presumably as a means to boost sales of Star Office 6.0).

Like everybody here doesn't use a legally challenged copy of office

Despite what people say Linux *is* user friendly, it's just choosy over who it's friends are.

No, honest Guv, it's Star Office 5.2! I see enough of MS Office at work... The free download page on a Turkish Uni site mentioned earlier in this thread was still up a couple of weeks ago, even though Sun have withdrawn the free download option for 5.2 on their website.

Btw, anyone tried Star Office 6.0 yet?
