Hi, I have a 666 celeron running Me with an ATI Rage Fury 32MB AGP graphics card.

I am contemplating buying a tv tuner card. I have a review in the March issue of computer buyer and it recommends the ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon and the Avermedia AVerTV 203 a close second.

The GDI Black Gold Analogue comes a close third but -according to the person who wrote the review- has the best reception. The reason it was third was due to the AVermedia card's better capture quality (something which I dont care about).

Now the question is does anyone have any advice or a TV Tuner card you can recommend?

Thanks.

PS I did have a Leadfast WinFast TV 2000 card but it was very very poor so Im ditching it.

You won't go wrong with a Radeon AIW. Very nice card, particularly the newer 8500 variant, although it isn't cheap. If your budget won't run to that, then the 7500 version will do everything you ask of it.

Hi,

I got myself one of those Haupage ones in a PC World (hate to admit going in there!!) for £20.
Plugged my incoming cable connection into it, let it scan for channels and that was that. It found loads of channels and works perfectly.

Have you considered a usb one?
If you can manage with your existing card you could wait for the knockdown effect that the new cards from Matrox and Ati will have on the market prices, and get yourself a stonking card for peanuts. The external ones are messy looking and you are putting even more faith in the usb hub but its worth a look and you get to keep a pci slot free..

Its on my To Do list.

But not right at the top...
