| The Laststarfighter was a 1984 film about a boy from an american trailer park ( static caravan site ) who by beating the high score on an arcade game, became the last starfighter left, in the galaxy, to defend the frontier against XUR and the K0-DAN armada, and kick some bony alien butt. The game in the film did not actually exist, but was done using the computer graphics for the actual space sequences in the film. The film like Tron had done just a few years earlier used a lot of computer graphics for the majority of the film. It is said that the designer of the star car in the film, could not tell the real car from the CG car when he was first shown the CG footage and actual footage of the car. As a game freak for years, I have always wanted to play the Laststarfighter game as it was in the film. Well now I have care of Doc at RogueSynapse.com. He has developed as modern PC game based on the game as it played in the film. The game plays as if it was an actual arcade machine, including start up rom check, an attract mode + you have to insert coins to play the game. For all those 80's kids who dreamed of becoming a Sarfighter. If I remember rightly it sometimes get to the menu screen and although the animation continues it does not respond to anything.

| I take it that you have read the Read Me file in the main folder. Remember also that this game was coded in such a way that it would be put into an arcade machine, ie you have to put credits into it to start up. Once in attract mode press 5 and you will hear a jingle to indicae that you have put credits in. The space bar acts as both start button and fires button. P.S. Dont forget to install the Fonts in your font folder as well, just for that wee bit of extra authenticity.
