If anyone else is struggling to get to grips with css, I've just found a book title that looks promising;
Integrated HTML and CSS: A Smarter, Faster Way to Learn
Virginia Debolt
ISBN: 0-7821-4378-4
Paperback
377 pages
January 2005
$30
Sybex

Sybex books are well written and easy to follow.

There's also CSS web design for dummies
Richard Mansfield
isbn: 0-7645-8425-1
£16

you don;t need a book to learn CSS all you need is the w3c site a CSS vaildator and a bit of spare time. just think of them as HTML attributes with longer names. if you use a program like dreamweaver it will highlight valid CSS in green i think? or a text editor like PSpad... of kate for you kde linux users
