ok i recently got burgled and in the process my wireless router got damaged (they stole the xbox 360 and ripped the Ethernet cable out) so basically i have a wireless router with a 2 wired ports still working which is ok... but i got insurance vouchers for a new one so i might as well.
another problem i've had is with port forwarding it just doesn't seem to work i input the data and the ports are still blocked i even put DMZ on and there still blocked...
anyway i have a Belkin F5D7230-4uk at the moment and i have no idea what to get everything in my price range (£50) from PCworld... all seem to have bad reviews...
Soo... i was wondering if theres a way to fix the port forwarding problem because if there is i don't really need a new one because i only need 2 wired ports anyway (well i can cope with 2)
i've been looking around other web sites about this issue and there doesn't seem to be a fix maybe a firmware update will help (bit worried though last time i tried it i bricked it)

Sounds like the wiring was damaged, a short perhaps, which has stopped it from functioning.

YAY first the router is on the frizs next virgin media dies for 2 days YAY! well anyway i've read the reviews and it seems good but before i jump into this whats the range like on this router? and hows the port forwarding work does it give u a decent amount of boxes... and does it actually allow them though and not just block them regardless

| Range is pretty decent. If you are worried the High Power version is only a fiver more. Port Forwarding and all the other management features are very comprehensive.

| If you want relatively unbiased reports on modem routers try Dabs or Amazon.co.uk.Both include bad reviews as well as the good ones. PS I think Dave Rice has shares in Buffalo.LOL
