I've just downloaded a SNES emulator for the PC until I have room to set the console up properly, and have a few questions.
Does a SNES count as retro?
Is it 100% legal (or near enough) to download ROMs of games I already own?
What if the game itself doesn't work anymore, but I can't find a new copy to buy?
Is there a recommended site to buy SNES games from? Gamestation and CEX in Cardiff only ever seem to have a handful of football games and charge up to £10 for them

The SNES is defintely retro.
The law is very vague on these matters, but it's generally understood that if you own the original (whether it works or not), you're fine to download the ROM.

Also consolepassion.co.uk (found them through the Bay, which is another option), or near any cash-and-carry, some charity shops etc.

Hmmm... Anyone had any joy getting Mario Kart to work with an emulator? It loads up fine, but the preview for Bowser's Castle 3 is corrupted, and the track just doesn't work, but it seems as if the maps for the tracks don't match up e.g. walls are in the wrong place and gaps in the ghost Castle tracks just don't exist
