Hi would any of you guys like to buy some go faster stripes or maybe an oversized exhaust?
Why pay £400 plus for a new PC and then thrash the nuts out of it?
Vic20 running at mach 12
95 gig of PC66
24 x 300GB HDDs

Cuddly toy

If you can get XP3200 performance from an XP2600 Athlon (at XP 2600 prices) then I can see the attraction, even if I personally don't have anything on my own PC that would benefit from that kind of CPU oomph.
Plus of course there must be a certain fascination in seeing how far you can safely push the performance of any given pile of bits (and still keep them as a functioning pile of bits)...
Not so much go faster stripes, more of a dell'orto carburettor kit and a race camshaft, perhaps?

Yeah saving money (unless youre one of those who HAS to have water cooling, transparent cases, etc)
Surely you can see the costs saved:
buying a lower speed XP chip and o/c to the speed of one costing 3 or 4 times as much?
Or making your AGP card work harder so it can play games and not need to upgrade as quickly
Is that not saving the odd quid or two?
If you cant see that then you dont really have a clue about overclocking and are only going on what youve read on these extreme forums, where someone buys a £40 cpu fan to get an extra 0.1Ghz speed.
Many do it on a budget basis and still get 75% o/c of what these with bottomless wallets do

Dago are you one of the Templer Knights or something?
With the go faster cross and little bit of latin text.
Even in Arcady, there am I.
