I've been casualy following news of the Amiga One for a year or so now. As an old Amiga fan it really intrests me whats next on the radar for the company.

Im on a degree course now for Digital Entertainment (Games Programming, AI and 3D graphics) and have found that the need to use industry standard software has forced me to dual boot with windows just so i can use Maya and 3dsMax (well i use Maya PLE and Gmax->Export->Milkshape to make 3dsMax models to render at uni). And it looks like this need to run industry standard software is going to be plauging me when/if i get a job aswell.

So I was wondering can any one here make an educated guestimate at how long it will take after the AOne and AOS 4's offical release before it can offer that kind of "standard" software or atleast compatability..... considering only Maya complete supports linux and 3dsMax doesnt and Linux has been out for years now ?

Or give a projection of where Amiga one will fit into the grand scheme of things, coz to be honest I'm just itching for an excuse to buy one.

Os 4 is due out around Jan 2004... What more can we say ?

Accept that ..

The more people that buy an A1, The more viable it becomes !!

Hope that swings it for Ya.
