I downloaded a shareware program called Mailwasher last week and it seems really good. Allows you to view/read in plain text emails before you download them to your pc, lets you see who they're coming from so you can delete the rubbish without it getting near you and lets you blacklist as required.
What I'd like to know is
1 does anyone else use this (or similar) programs
2 what's the downside (works so well there's gotta be a hitch)
3 if there's no catch, why doesn't Outlook etc work this way?

Any comments before I pay some cash to the programmer much appreciated.
