[size=5][size=5]Hi i tried to install a router on a friends pc, it was supposed to be easy...
yeah well its not,he is with tiscali and they sent him a wireless adsl router Thomson st585.
his pc had no nic so we got a pci nic installed updated the drivers with supplied floppy done a reboot then put the "foolproof" ha ha ha cd in followed the setup instructions to the letter when it got to the part detecting modem/router it failed could not find router? after several attempts at this i exited the cd and tried to resolve the problem through the router help pages just got more confused.
all the lights are alight on the router i have substituted the Ethernet and adsl cables also another nic for known working items, called tiscali help line done some checks with them but got nowhere really.
when i tried to open an ie page just get "Thomson st585 network error"
the pc works fine with the original adsl modem also i can get the router page up wireless on my laptop?
could the router be faulty it seems ok ?

please any thoughts on this welcome.
