I need some help!

I have a Netgear DG834 router (wireless) and want to add an access point to a PC to connect to the router.

So wireless router connected to LAN (3PC's and printer) and Internet.

PC4 connected by ethernet to WG602 access point, and connected wireless to DG834.

I can connect PC4 to the WG602 and access its config screen (and even see the wireless network but can not access the LAN/internet.

An Access Point cannot connect to any other wireless devices, they connect to it.
What you need is an Ethernet Bridge.

Some APs are capable of doing this, and it seems yours is too.
It has to be set to another mode, look in the manual, section 5-2.
You need Point-to-Point bridging.

does this mean the DG834 is not compatable?

As they are both Netgear, you would hope they would talk together in this mode.
However, I have used D-Link APs that will only talk to the same model in wireless bridge mode.

Only one way to find out...

Sorted!

I upgraded to the latest firmware and can use as a 'Client' only setting.

I can now put my Home Server in the garage.
