Now use little fish have been squeezed out (I used to be a WISP) it's the turn of the big boys it seems.
Everyone thinks being an ISP is a licence to print money, it never has been.

"Consumer broadband provision is now simply a numbers game: the more you have, the tighter you can squeeze your costs."
People by on price, and this is what happens.

Wish Be would show an intrest, tiscali has enabled 818 exhanges.

Be could cherry pick which ones it needs, and sell off the remains.

Probably never happen, but you never know.

Tiscali has 84 exchange in Yorkshire & Humberside, and a fair few of these exchanges don't have Be installed.
Look at Sam Knows for info.

But if Be bought Tiscali, would exsisting Be customers lose the quailty of service, etc.
I wouldn't want to lose any of the excellent service I already received,by having slower speed, capping imposed on me.

Go to the Be site and register your interest.

Even if Be do purchase Tiscali, the exchanges that Tiscali have LLU'd will be on ADSL, not ADSL2+ which is what Be will be all about.

Be would then upgrade those exchanges to ADSL2+ to offer the options they have I bet. I doubt Be will do the business though. As the article sayts, it will probably be Carphone Warehouse to add to the Talk Talk customers.

Be...Be...Be..it won't Be! Be is only a sub-division of O2, bought in 2006. Be won't be buying anything because Be is owned by O2. It's an outside possibility that O2 will buy Tiscali, but I doubt it.
