You can get a cable with svhs connector to scart , I also have a scart to usb cable.
But, I'm not sure as to what software you would need.

The S-Video on your 3870 is probably just an output. You can pick up cheap TV tuners that will have a standard arial connection, so you can plug the video straight in to it

| Tippon, So you mean use the Tv card like a capture card bu inputting the video signal? What software would you use to capture the video. I ask as I also have something similar I would lik to do with camcorder tapes. Columbo

Yep, exactly that
Most retail TV tuners will come with recording software, but there should be lots of freebies about too

| Nero7 does have the facility to do this, however after configuring Nero you get a small TV screen. This pics up on my ATI capture, but no picture can be seen? ULead Video Studio SE should work the same as Nero, again it's awkward to configure it. Hence it is always best to use the software that comes with your TV device/card. You can then record AV with the software. To capture audio only you could use something like sound Forge / Audacity. You would need to open your TV software and watch it while recording sound with the mentioned. To use Audacity there are a few Tutorials (Provided by Just_Jon) in the forum? If your video has a scart socket you could also use Easycap for AV - USB (2.0) it comes with Ulead software (make sure ulead is included with the one you purchase) I have never used one and I can't vouch fo rcompatibility with your rig / OS. You would need a Scart - AV converter plug, with the software you can record AV or just Audio to your PC.
