I got my first Mac today (yay!).

It's an iMac G3 at 233MHz with 64MB of RAM, and is running OS9.1
I'm not sure what I can do with it (it has photo shop 5 on it), but not too sure about anything else.

I know I won't really be able to run any games on it (or can I?), but I'd like to give it some use.

Also, can I use the new keyboard/mouse set with it, or not?

Hey nice purchase! Not too sure what you could use it for these days beyond pretty basic stuff?? A lot of people use them for things like webservers. Check out http://lowendmac.com/ for ideas on what you can do with it, where to get software etc.

The new keyboards and mice should work but just check that the USB ports on the Mac are the 1.1 variety.

Yes the Mac keyboards work on any PC with a USB port as long as it is USB 1.1 or above (The USB 1.1 standard was brought out in 1998 so unless your PC is reeeeally old it will have at least USB 1.1). They are just regular keyboards in that respect.

The only difference being that some of the keys are different, for example instead of the 'windows key' you have an 'apple key' (or 'command key' to those in the know!) but you should find that windows plays nicely with it.

So you can see the differences of some of the keys here's a big picture...

Also I would just buy one from amazon, they have them for £32.45 inc delivery.

I haven't used one myself, but I could imagine it's a love it or hate it type of thing. It is basically the same keyboard that comes on a MacBook laptop. Which I really like and use all day long without problem.

There's a review of one at a website who's reviews I trust to be honest and fair over here.
