Can I o/c a 9000 pro well or is it not worth trying?

How can i do it? from bios or is there a special program?

Also, will it effect temps because my Athlon 2400 is currently running at abouty 55 degrees busy, so will the oc on the radeon mess this up?

Any advise will do.

Thanks

I have exactly that card, also the 9000pro AIW. Strange thing is I got overclocking software with the AIW but not the 9000pro? Both were retail versions too. The software is Redline rel 1.2 overclocking and tweaks. It came on seperate disk, mine was a sapphire make of this card, don't know if software is available to download though. Quite a lot of settings can be altered, memory speed etc., but haven't really tried out, as more interested in the video in and TV in side of these cards. Hope this helps.

I picked up a 2nd hand 9000 64mb standered version. I used omega drivers from http://www.driverheaven.net/downloads/index4.htm
which include ocing features and a test prog to see if the cards struggling. I dont know what memory and gpu run at in the pro but on this they both defaulted to about 275 and I pushed them both to over 305 (maybe310) b4 the artifact tester recomended reducing speeds. Still running at over 300 with no artifacts but the unit now refuses to come out of standby, prob not related thou.

O/c potential also depends on the maker of card - cooling fan type, memory speed & quality of components

VAPD has suggested the best solution. The OMEGA drivers are the dogs donuts. They include overclocking features with the drivers. Very easy to do, you cant go wrong.
Overclocking the graphic card should have very little, or no, effect on your CPU temperature.
