Give Sky a look. They're in the Aberdare exchange, along with AOL and have some good offers if you have TV with them.

They're not listed on samknows for the Hirwaun exchange, but you might get lucky

P.S. They'll list up to 16Mbs, but I know I can only get a max of 3Mbs from them.

If you can borrow someone's wireless laptop, and see if you can pick up who near you is using what, it can give you a good idea who to avoid.

For example from my house I can see that 5 of my neighbours are using Sky, so I'll leave them to fight over the available bandwidth and their contention issues, and use someone else.

Similarly if you find your speed reducing do a check to see how many of your neighbours have moved to your ISP, with a view to picking one that's not having to spread the bandwidth so thinly.

Have you tried Kitz's ISP availability checker: http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php
