Hello All. Can you help me, please? Do you know which file holds all the track listing details of audio cd's that are played with Windows Media Player? I've got the track listings of about seventy cd's in my old desktop pc, and I'd like to copy the details to my brand-new-second-hand flaptop. It's just I've been anul-maximus about the track listings and edited all the errors in the downloaded listings, and I really don't want to have to do it all again! I've got Windows 2000 Pro on the desktop with Windows Media Player 7.1, and XP Pro with version 8.0 (?) on the flaptop. I'm not sure about Windows Media Player 9 yet, because I've heard it has funny copyright management stuff. Is this an issue, or am I worrying unduly? Will I need identical versions of Windows Media Player on each computer to be able to use the copied file? Syncing the files would be nice. Are there any other media players that could read the information from the Windows Media Player track-listing-data file? Or am I stuck with the Windows Media Player if I want to keep the data I've entered? Can I open or edit this file with Word or Access? Or is my source closed? I buy more music than I copy or download, and have actually bought more music as a consequence of hearing downloads and toasties. I think the record companies must bite the bullet and lower the prices of pre-recorded media. I believe their sales and profits would increase proportionately. I know I’d end up spending a lot more if cd’s were a good deal cheaper. Anyway, this isn't a copy-protection issue. I just want to copy a file with my information on it. I hope you can help me. Thank you. Mattasahatter
