First apologies if this is in the wrong section but since its going to be part of my network I thought I'd post here I haver no idea where its meant to go.
Since I bought and put together a media/pvr pc I have realised that I need a new TV as I can't connect my old one up. Well I could but apparently its either expensive or you sacrifice picture quality or both.
I'm not sure whether at face value I didn't plan this out very well or that subconsciously I did it so I could justify to the missus I needed a new gadget?? Who knows.
Right down to it, I know nothing about HDTV's, apparently 1080p output or is it 1080i (I always get mixed up) is the best with 100mhz refresh?? Anyway I'm looking for a cheapish TV thats gonna last a while so was wondering if you guys could help. I was looking at this from ebuyer:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136349?hp_prod=1
Is it any good or are there better ones? Cheers guys.

I'm looking into getting a 37" or 42" screen myself with a £500 budget, so I may have some suggestions soon. What's your budget and what size screen are you after?

Woohoo a reply, I thought people were ignoring this because I'd posted in the wrong section (which I probably have).
Screen size of at least 32 though 37 would be better and the budget is around 500 squid.

Have a look here:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=155
Lots of knowledge on those forums.
Also, a good tip, if you find a good high street deal (rather than online) John Lewis will usually price-match it, and all thier TVs come with free 5 year Warranty (which can be a few hundred on its own)

| The AVS forums are and excellent place for advice. Not aware of the Ebuyer tv but it does get good reviews. Some good things to consider: http://gizmodo.com/384902/the-10-worst-hdtv-ripoffs-explained Personally I went for the TV first which then gave me an excuse to get extra gadgets to put through it. 1080i is perfectly OK for a 32" tv but if your going to hook it up to a HTPC you may want to go for 1080p so that you can get to 1920 x 1080 resolution.
