Does anyone know how I can get HH to run on VB? I got the ISO loaded OK but then went to download the addition so I could have a full screen - downloaded that and ran it but got the message "unable to build the kernel module. See the log file var/log/vboxadd-install.log" at which I am lost. Googling for information has not been helpful and was looking forward to a play around. I know I could do that with the Live CD, but have a virtual OS could be handy.

Suggestions welcomed. TIA

Ron

I have just put HH on VB and used the additions to give me full screen without the problems you are having.

You say you have downloaded the additions? They are already within VB. Just click on the appropriate menu bar.

When the addons mounts as a CD, copy the contents to a folder in your Home.
Then from a terminal sudo ./VirtualboxAddons.run (or whatever it's called).
Running it from the "CD" never seems to work.

Still no joy, I am getting the same error message - unable to build the kernel module. See log file /var/log/vboxadd-install.log

Dunno if relevant, but I am using Linux Mint as my main OS and VB has XP running on it quite happily.

Are you trying the 64bit edition, or the 32bit one?

32bit version

Edit: Still no luck with this so if anyone has any idea I would be grateful.

If anyone has any ideas on this I would be grateful otherwise its about to become a project for another day. From what I could see of Heron on the minute screen it looks pretty good.
