Ok.
I recently just got hold of this buffalo router, and i'm having trouble setting it up for ADSL.
I assumed i could connect both to power, Set up one LAN cable from the router to the ADSL modem, ADSL cable from the telephone line to the modem, and one LAN cable back from the router to the computer, and that was it....
BUT apparently not. it doesen't seem to work like that, anyone know what could be up?

You have to set up the ADSL modem first, you cannot set it up via the Buffalo.
Until the modem is set up there will be no IP address on the WAN port for the Buffalo to use to communicate with anything.
Set up the modem with a PC connected to it, verify that the internet is working, then plug the Buffalo in and all should be well.
Depending on the modem you may have to reboot it.

Ok, well this is the stuff i currently have..

That ADSL modem came with the airstation.
I assume that i connect the ADSL modem to the computer using the blue LAN cable.
Then connect the little RJ-11 cable to the ADSL modem and the telephone line.
After that set up the I.P by finding the internet connections and going to properties.
Then connect the buffalo airstation to the ADSL modem using the white linear LAN cable.
Go to 192.168.11.1 and set up the buffalo.
Hopefully connect to the internet.
Then plug my XBOX to the airstation using my yellow belkin crossover cable?

Ah ha! you have the "proper" kit.
Yes, there's a wizard that will do the connecting / testing for you.
You don't use a crossover cable to connect a client to a switch or hub, but the Buffalo should "uncross" it.

It may have to be PPPoA.
Not used the (no longer) supplied Buffalo modem for over a year, so I forget what you can do with it settings wise.
