They did a quick one and said they'd do a more in depth one, but I haven't seen the second one!

A Media Center Build was done in Issue 992, Feb 21-27 with Vista installed, in Issue 994 March 6-12 it was turned into a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) Using GBPVR.
I Give GBPVR a go and for the life of me couldn't get it to recognise my TV card.
As Media centers are becoming so popular, i don't see the problem having another look and maybe a more indepth look and setting one up with Mediaportal, Mythtv etc. Pitfalls and maybe reader's experiences with compatibility issues.
Phil.

How did you find Linux MCE? v. 7.04 or 7.10? What TV card?
I've tried both and not managed to get either working fully, in fact, only XP MCE and Vista have worked for me, i'm desperate to get a Linux based Media system working fully.

Haven't got the link ATM, I'm in work. As far as I can remember though, I just downloaded the 2 CD's from the main site and then I installed it on top of Kubuntu 7.10.
I haven't played with it to see if it works yet, as it took ages and is on a second PC. The basic frontend seems to be working though.
