But presumably you've still got a long contract to run for at least six months on the first iPhone...?

yes i have, but O2 will be offering an upgrade service

Anyway.....

as WWDC08 goes.... nothing much happened

new iPhone and Snow Leopard, better exchange support and QuickTime X, quicktime x seems very interesting

Using media technology pioneered in OS X iPhone, Snow Leopard introduces QuickTime X, which optimizes support for modern audio and video formats resulting in extremely efficient media playback. Snow Leopard will also include Safari with the fastest implementation of JavaScript ever, increasing performance by 53 percent, making Web 2.0 applications feel more responsive.

lets face it, QT is very sluggish. I only use VLC.

let the iPhone flaming commence!!

I thought the revamped .mac was very interesting! One of the main problems with it previously was that trying to keep a couple of machines in sync was a nightmare and by the looks of things they've gone and solved that problem. This is why I like Apple's products, when they solve a problem they do it in a simple, elegant way that just makes you wonder why nobody did it that way before!

Snow Leopard looks like it will be a good update as well. For the last couple of years they have been throwing new features in to OS X to make sure they are well ahead of Vista. Seems like with all the problems Vista is having and with peoples perceptions of it at a real low, Apple have decided to take a step back and just tweak the little niggles and sort out some of the under the hood stuff. I can't wait

True enough, but I'm very concerned we're going to be sold something that should've been a service pack.

On the subject of service packs, expect a new iTunes and 10.5.4 by mid-July, ready for MobileMe.

Well, as 10.1 was a free upgrade for those who had bought 10.0, I hope you're right!
