Hi guys...thought I might post regarding this

http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_adp.php?p_faqid=10495&cat_lvl1=346&p_cv=1.346&p_cats=346

Looks like you guys on Option 1 & 2 get your cap limit doubled - bearing in mind that if you go over it increases to 60p per GB

With this in mind I've now downgraded to Option 2 (from Option 3). I was paying £24.99 a month but I have just renewed by broadband contract with BT and I asked what savings can you do for me etc (was Option 3 unlimited)...I was amazed as the operator offered me £14.99 per month if I stayed/renewed for 12 months! Great news for me as that's a tenner saved a month! Plus also my phone calls are now free after six on evenings and weekends (as previously advertised) - something which I though BT would automatically activate on all landlines - err no...

I know BT are hit and miss with most people, but I've had less hassle with them compared when dealing with Tiscali, AOL and Talk Talk for other people's broadband problems...

Hi Computer Dave,

I've had the same thing with Tiscali since I moved to them, every year when it comes up for renewal I shop around. Then I threaten to cancel as I can get a better deal from so and so ISP. Tiscali then beat that deal!

True, like most, I've never had the 'upto' speed that the packages say they offer, but I have had a steadily increasing broadband speed for a lower and lower monthly outlay.

I'm now on a 2mb package which is in reality 1mb precisely (too precise to be a distance away from the exchange issue if you know what I mean), plus free telephone calls and line rental included for less than I used to pay for dial up.

Next renewal anniversary I'm already looking forward to a 4mb package (when the line speed will no doubt miraculously reach 2mb precisely) plus a further reduction in monthly outlay.

Mad Malc

Hi Malc

I'm lucky I live very close to the telephone exchange so get the full 8MB at all times...and its been rock solid since but I once had problems and my speed kept dropping down to 7.6 or 6.1 and then I'd lose the connection...turns out it was my surge protector - the telephone line input/output was faulty

Nice to both have a speed increase and a price drop
