Anyone know if Ram can die gradually?
For months I've been running slightly overclocked Ballistix ram on an Asus P5K at stock timings with no issues. During the last few weeks I've had BSODS, slow downs and crashes. Changing the divider and slowing the ram cured this for about 24 hours, dropping the FSB a little gave me another carefree day, before the issues returned. Another drop in FSB and all is fine for a while and then the cycle starts again. I can reduce FSB by as little as 2mhz and all is fine for a while.
Down to about 670mhz at the moment. Any ideas?

Could be the motherboard failing. More than likely the ram though.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it very much looks like your ram is failing, i owned four sticks of ballistics a while ago, all were overclocked and all but one stick failed within four months of each other with the same characteristics that you state.
You should be able to rma them with the excellent warranty that crucial give.

Re: Memtest I get errors when the symptoms are present - no errors when I drop the speed, until the next lot of symptoms appear.
I should have some Corsair ram to try by the weekend. If this cures the problem I'll RMA the ram, if not I'll be RMAing the mobo. Hopefully it'll be the ram. I've always liked Crucial products but I've heard a few horror stories about Ballistix recently.
