The new coolers they have just don't seem as good as the previous generation to me. I liked the fact they ejected the hot air out of the case but the recent models just don't seem to do this any more? Seems like a backwards step to me...

Intel e7200 @ 4.0GHz (4.32GHz SuperPi(e)) Lapped
Asus P5E-VM (Vdroop pencil modded)
4Gb Patriot Pc6400 4-4-4-12
250Gb Samsung Spinpoint
Sapphire ATI 3870/Akasa Vortexx Neo
Enermax 600 Watt PSU
Ubuntu/Win XP
All in a Thermaltake Handbag...
Or flying @ 4.21GHz in the Stacker.

I know what you mean Wiz, but unfortuneately the best we got. The 3870 has a cooler like that though.

With my 4870 I'm debating whether to switch to the Arctic Cooling Dual fan job. My case has plenty of access to add fans to push the heat out. Yours, is a bit limited though.

Like it or lump it I'm afraid :\

That's the thing though. My 3870 does not have a AC cooler and the one that's fitted blows the warm air the wrong way!

I was referring to the stock cooler. I was assuming it was a Dual Slot Cooler. On consideration though, the one I had was only a single slot and very loud.

Best course of action is to see if anyone is selling the stock HSF having put an after market on. There are some very good Stock ones, you just have to be lucky with it.

Otherwise, there aren't any 3rd party that blow air out the back I'm afraid.

It is not noisy though I'll give it that.

I adapted a no longer available Vantec Iceberq, rear exhaust cooler from TekHeads to use with my [A] rig ASUS card, dropping its temperature about 30 degrees, so I guess that it's only a matter of time before there's a third party kit for your newer, more exotic cards ?
Edit - mind you, there's then the warranty invalidation problem !
