Are you currently running Windows with NTL Broadband already set up? If so, you don't need to do anything, Linux will just connect!
However, there are one or two traps for the unwary:
If you are connected to the net via USB, this does not work as well in Linux as Ethernet and actually has a habit of disconnecting for no apparent reason. So use the Ethernet connection rather than the USB. You'll find that it works better in Windows as well as Linux. This is because your USB connection uses processor time, whereas Ethernet generally has its own hardware. If your mobo does not have it built in, you should be able to buy a 10/100 Ethernet card for very little cash, go on the net and check for Linux compatibility (www.google.com/linux is a good place to start).
Secondly, if your motherboard has Ethernet on board as part of an "nForce" chipset, you will need to download the nForce driver from www.nvidia.com before you can connect Linux to the net, so download the file and print the instructions first.
Ignore the nonsense from NTL. As long as your connection is up, it will work.
