I am running xp pro and vista home premium in a dual boot configuration on my Abit AN-M2HD. Weird thing is that on Vista I have sound and on XP I have nothing.

Tried the usual un-installing and re-installing drivers etc but without any joy. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Cheers,

Has the audio been sent to the HDMI output in XP?

You could have a look in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, look on the Audio tab and drop down the Playback menu to see if you can select your prefered output there.

5 CC wins, and proud of my messy dive!

checked as suggested and it says that there are no devices but that all drivers are installed correctly and working properly?

now even more confused.

Are you using xp sp3 ? The beta caused some problems with a few peoples (including mine) sound. Mainly realtek if I remember correctly

Seem to remember a problem with the front audio jack causing problems too. Try disabling the auto sensing for the front socket

Cheers Chris

Cheers Chris - think you might be on to some thing - am using the beta SP3 as well as a realtek driver!

will have a shot at your suggestion and see what happens.

I have checked my "sound" settings under control panel and all options are greyed out!?
