300 watt is more than enough,

Not sure how you tell what D915 you have.

That's nice to know the 300w is enough, thanks for the link according to it there is only a D915 no paticular one? I did once note the numbers on it. to do this I had to wipe the thermal off, then I had none (had to get some more) so i don't want to wipe it off. If ever I get it fired I will see what PCW says.

Maybe mog may know, if he checks this thread at all.

Cheers Wiz

I checked all the 2.8 and it showed D920 etc then this one said 915

Edit: Sadly I can't see any mention of what Dave suggested

 (revD0,without VT function).

There is a 4 pin CPU socket on the mobo. I will no more as time goes on. The thermal wasn't a problem I would rather of left it on but I wanted a sneak at the numbers. I got some off ebay then when I went to put the heatsink on there was some on that so I had double on and still took off what I had off ebay.

Tis all fun and a challenge.

Im due to recieve a new mobo soon which means il have a faulty P5KC available if you want it, I cant put my finger on whats wrong with and ive swapped the CPU/Ram etc and i still get an overclocking failed message.

You might be able to do something with it.

( I have a sneaking suspicion that my heavyweight Zalman cooler keeps unseating the CPU)

warm regards

Nice one mog, that'll do nicely I love a challenge.

I was going to PM you but your box is full and needs emptying before you can recieve anymore PMs

If you are unsure (or anyone else, some are) how to do this, heres my tut.

At the top of the forum / Control panel (down the left Private messsages) / inbox, tick the little white box / go to the bottom and select move to deleted items. Do the same with your sent box, then select (down the left) empty PM folders then tick Deleted items / empty selected.

If you already know it pays to keep your eye on it, to save times like this when I can't PM you.

Cheers Mog, PM sent.

I recieved the 20-24pin converter this morning and plugged it into the Asus, it made no difference. I am going to have to wait and see if I can get a bigger wattage PSU that is 24pin + 4 pin.

My own previous experience with these converters, they don't do the job (on some boards). That was with a compaq though, compaq have a mind of there own, I am beginning to think Asus have a mind of there own.

~Edit:

Studying the converter it keeps 2 red wires on the right (using the 4 pins shown in above picture), if I use just the 20pin then this leaves the red pins unused.
