In this weeks issue you have a feature on how to get a decent system for under £300. It got me thinking about a recent build for a guy who was disappointed when his new XP2200/GF4/DDR etc system with WinXP took longer to carry out his everyday tasks than his old Win95 pentium. I think it would make interesting reading to have a feature comparing pc's from the last few years as opposed to the usual number crunching benchmarks. After all, most pc's are used for net access, basic word processing/spreadsheets, playing cd's and gaming. You could include Retro mart, Amigas, Linux, Macs etc and give us real world, cross platform comparisons for the most basic tasks. ...or How about a series of "races" using the above theme. Imagine "XP Pentium 4 versus Linux 486" or "Mac system 7 versus Amiga" - you could even have side stories of each MM depts preparation of its "challenger" I think it would make great reading.
