7 is going to be made on the "MinWin" idea. They are going to cut the kernel down from the 4Gb+ of Vista down to as small as they can. They demoed a version that was only 25Mb! It was obviously lacking a useable feature set, but it shows that Microsoft know one of the problems with Vista.

They do need to make it modular. Gamers will want to strip it down just direct X if possible.
