Help wanted for overclocking a E4300 on a Asus P5K Premium board.

I had this running at 3ghz when the bios was on version 404.

I upgraded to 0612 (shouldnt have)

Now the Bios looks different and i cant figure out how to get the CPU back to 3ghz.

Does anyone have instructions on how to do this with bios version 612?

When you do a bios update the mobo will reset back to default settings, The main things to pay attention to is the FSB frequency, DRAM frequency, PCI E frequency(set to 100) and CPU voltage, These options should all be set manually and the rest can be left on auto for now, The bios should not have changed that much, you still have the options you had when you first overclocked it.

your bios should look like this.

That is the BIOS before my one.

I have since figured it out. You are right in saying that it was not to much different from the last one (404)

Though the main thing was you have to manauly type in the the FSB. Where on the old BIOS it gave you a list of all possible choices.

I had written it down before i changed the BIOS (as i knew it would reset it all)

So changed down to 266mhz and FSB to 325mhz. Now running at 2.9ghz rather than 1.8. That will do for me.
