Hi guys. I want to change my sig to have a clickable image to go to the Facebook page for a festival I'm helping organise. the HTML for it is

<p><a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21553817444"><img border="0" src="n21553817444_6726.jpg" width="200" height="284"></a></p>

but when I try to change it to put in my sig, it doesn't work. I know I'm missing something obvious, because I've done it before with my folding sig and xfire sig, but I can't remember how! When I view my sig to check, it just shows my folding sig as the picture, which is no help

EDIT: Made code text bigger so it's clearer to read.

I think it's possibly because Facebook doesn't allow hotlinking.

Try it with the link at the bottom of the picture page.

Or just upload the image to Photbucket/Flickr/Photobucket for free and link with that.

Try this instead mate. Should work fine.

(a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21553817444")(img src="http://photobucket.com/youralbum/yourpic.jpg" border="0" width="200" height="284")(/a)

Except replace the brackets for < and > in the usual way. And photobucket an image for the link as hotlinking won't work. Also you needn't specify the exact height and width of the image unless you're resizing it and want it exactly that size.

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies. Unless it's changed recently, Facebook was allowing hotlinking. I've sent emails with the pic and it was clickable

I've gfot the HTML code for it, and that's what was working in emails, but I can't figure out how to change it to use it in my sig. I just get the text that's there now

The pic should be:

Why can you not just use the HTML code you've posted?

<center><p><a href= "http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21553817444"><img border="0" src="http://profile.ak.facebook.com/object3/1436/48/n21553817444_6726.jpg" width="200" height="284"></a></p></center>

This is after all not a PHPbb forum, it just has had some of its usual tags etc implemented!

Test:

If you do insist on using the implemented phpBB style code what you'll need is:

Test 2:

Thanks Captain CAD, but for some reason, when I put that in my sig, it just shows the code, instead of the pic. I remembered how to do it though, and I was just being a bit dim

I put the pic in, like I did in the post, then selected it and inserted a hyperlink to the page. I love it when blonde moments wear off and the clarity returns

Now you've uploaded it here anyhow, Have you now tried to replace the image with this one?

[Edit]
Nevermind, it looks as if you've done something similar

Thanks again Captain

What I don't understand though is, apart from the tags, I had the same thing. I thought it might be because I didn't use capitals for the tags, but clicking an option from the reply toolbar doesn't either? My code was (without the *):

[*url=http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21553817444][*img]http://profile.ak.facebook.com/object3/1436/48/n21553817444_6726.jpg[/*img][/*url]

EDIT: Putting it in the Code brackets now displays the clickable picture!
