Hi guys im having a little difficulty with my new setup I just bought a netgear dgn2000 adsl modem router which is great but I also thought it would be handy to have an access point/bridge in my room for my lappy and Xbox so I got a wnhde111 ,
But I now have a really bad feeling there not compatible without connecting a second bridge to my router,
I just thought that as you only need one when you have a WNDR3300 router that it should be the same for my modem router as its just the same but with a medem built in........is'nt it ???

Can anyone shed some light please as I cant connect them.

The dgn2000 is 2.4Ghz and the wnhde111 is 5Ghz so they're never going to talk to each other.

The WNDR3300 is dual band 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, which is why you only need one of each.

Have to say 5Ghz is a good idea now 2.4Ghz is so crowded.
Prices were nowhere near as horrendous as I thought they would be.
I've got some commercial strength 5Ghz kit laying around, might give it a go myself
It's already set up as a bridge.

I'm still not touching any N stuff until the standard is set though, it's still too proprietary.

You would think there top end adsl router would come with all the trimmings including dual band,

Oh well you live you learn and ive spotted another bridge for 35 including P&P .
