I'd love one of these in my Christmas stocking. okay, my feet aren't that big, but I'm sure I can stretch my sock to fit one of them in.

Any with enough money should invest in the AMD Spider platform. Fastest domestic x86 platform available, and future-proof, too.

It'd be a folding monster if you had 4 sets of GPU clients working (4x4870 GPUs running)

Real men make their own amps

In answer to the threads title, money no object I would have a proper Sun Workstation

Indeed they do.  I've just built a solid state class A amplifier, a 15W John Linsley-Hood design.  Sounds lovely too, although I hope it will be getting better in the near future.  The cheapass bits I put in it to try it out wil be replaced with some Audio Note parts, as and when the finances allow.   That said, I could be tempted to buy one....the Audio Note amplifiers are beautiful pieces of artwork.
