Well i was planning on formatting the pc today but it seems the windows install disk has a problem.

Every time i try to boot from it, it stops and says "windows had to shutdown due to an error, this could be due to your hard drive being corrupt (its not btw) etc etc then gives me this big old long error code,

now the thing is when im logged on and put the windows disk in the dvd drive it plays fine, like nothings wrong with it,

anyone got any suggestions?
i saw just before you boot from the disk at the bottom it says something like "press F8 to install raid drivers" or something like that, shall i try pressing F8?

just thought id check here first before i start doing things im not sure about.

thx
brad,

Don't just borrow the disk, use nLite and slipstream SP3 when your installation is complete - it is worth the effort.

Format your drive, borrow the Windows XP disk get everything going then use nLite to make your own fully customised Windows XP disk including SP3 for the NEXT time everything goes pear-shaped. It won't save you anything now, but it is a good long term investment.
