This update was downloaded last night (Friday 18/09/08) as a Foldig@Home update and crashed / hung my system through the night.  System did recover today and I got it running.  There's plenty of info out there about it but it seems its specifically done via Folding.  Its not easy to tell if Folding is running although a very brief summary (ie Folding 20%) appears on the screensaver.  Fortunately, although not obvious to me there's a way to switch back to the old Folding screen.  Hold the red square button down and use the up / down buttons to move between Life with Playstation and Folding@Home icons.  Thanks to fhaq who posted on Friday, September 19, 2008 @ 3:12:03 AM on this link http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/3787.html

At least I now know it's still Folding and for the right team.  Hope this helps any PS3 users out there.
