| Hi all i have a problem my laptop wont boot past mircosoft logo done loads of cheaks and i get a error saying smss.exe is missing Can anyone help a newbie please ????

It looks as though you might have a virus, Here is a link which i hope will help.

It could also be a normal system process which might need to be fixed by running a windows XP repair disk.
