I'm not sure what is wrong, I would say it sounds like the driver signing is working, for me atleast with out the driver signing disabled i couldn't even run vmware, once it was enabled vmware would run. It almost sounds like the machines aren't setup the same or something else is wrong but i cannot offer any more advice I was lucky enough for it all to work without to much hassle.
Maybe try to run vmware with driver signing disabled and then run it without just to test to see if there is any difference between the modes just to either confirm or rule out the driver signing issue if you havn't done it already?

I have done that already!! I still can't get internet on one of the VMs and they are like for like copes of each other. I did copy and past the files!!

I think I have fixed everything now! I have now got internet in both VMs and they are folding nicely. I have however, had to remove 2 GB of ram as it was different speed stuff and it would BSOD the PC when I started the second VM.
