the card is a " msi geforce ti 4200 128 mb ddr".
the fan has started to make a high speed whine when i start the system up from cold or after being on standby for a while.
this lasts for about 10 seconds, then quitens down.
sometimes the tower will be noticibly hot as opposed to warm.
is it possible to fit a after market fan ( used for overclocking ).
if it,s possible which sites do i go to ?.
thanks all.
regards,
fugglestone.
forgot to say that i,m running IL2 Sturmovik, morrowind etc.
that need a good card.

Right on there mark. My fan on my old gf4ti started to whine. Took out card, cleaned fan, twiddled around with it a bit and it worked fine.

No biggy. The spring are just to hold the pins in place and stop the fan from falling off. I;m presuming these are not screws and are actually little barbed pins? If so just squeeze the barbs together and puch them through or pull on the other end.
Sometimes the fan is really stuck to the heatsink, I find a hairdryer on full for a min or two does the trick.
