Hi all
Ive got a pc belonging to a friends father in law ,his grand daughter was using it yesterday when something popped up ,i dont know what but she apparentley clicked ok.Now when windows loads up it goes through the loading screen then the screen goes black but with an active mouse pointer nothing else i tried loading into safe mode it loads as far as safe mode in the 4 corners with an active mouse pointer but nothing else.Ive done a windows repair swapped the graphics card for a pci card original was agp and i also swapped the memory but the same thing still happens any help would be really appreciated

First thoughts are a virus of some sort - I found this page at Tech Support Forums. I'd suggest giving their solution (post number 11) a go.

Did you try repairing it via the reinstall option rather than via the repair console?
Edit: have you tried booting up using a Linux LiveCD? This should narrow down whether it's a corrupt Windows problem or not.
