Not that any warning should be necessary to Forum readers, but you may wish to alert your friends and family not to click on the 'so-called' experimental Microsoft Software fixes!

| Thanks for the heads up - I can believe people could be fooled, it's the convoluted way that Microsoft issue and install updates, that's why many people don't bother - they turn off the updates - that are designed to make their PC's safer

Matters are not being helped by sloppy security around MSN that has allowed dubious third parties to get hold of hot mail address books. There are quite a lot of straightforward SCAM emails as well as more carefully mis-represented missives about. Within twenty-four hours of being added to someone's address book recently, I received several such emails, whilst the owner regularly gets such emails, all promptly ignored or deleted despite being quite plausible.
The more obvious ones refer to non-existent financial accounts in one's name, Abbey accounts being a favourite, seeking information and containing web-links to who knows what or whom !
Isn't the Internet wonderful.
