O.K. I've downloaded it again but this time I unzipped it and then scanned it, which flagged up a file called "initrd.gz" as the offending file.

It looks like there could be a problem then if NOD32 is picking up the same file as PCGuard. I will try some of those online scanners to see what comes up.
Ive tried 3 online scanners which have detected nothing wrong with initrd.gz so I'm a bit confused now.

| BigDaddy, I'm not sure what I get out of your link, except maybe that Puppy seem to be having problems with this particular file. Unfortunately I didn't bother to keep the original zip so I cannot check if initrd.gz is actually corrupted. As Nod32 seems to handle most archives ok I'd conclude there is probably no virus but that the initrd.gz archive is corrupted, and darkone may be better to try a different pen-drive distro as recommended earlier in the thread.
