I would like to capture DVD footage to use in my own videos but I am having trouble finding a suitable program to do it. I am not interested in copying DVDs but this seems to be the main purpose of most of the programs I find on the internet.

I would just like to take out some 1 minute clips from some films and convert them to MPEG so that I can use them in my video editing program. I have found a program that converts DVDs to MPEG format but it either does just one 20MB clip, or 700MB at a time which is far too much to split up in my editing program.

Ideally I would like a program that lets you select which part of the DVD you would like to convert and how long you want the clip to be. Does anyone know of any program that lets you do this or is this just wishful thinking?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

It's OK - I found out for myself how to do it.

If anyone else has this problem use a program called DVDx. Just google search and download it. Excellent quality results and you can choose where to take the clip from.
